Exfoliating Face Mask

Hey sweets! So many of you have been requesting an exfoliating mask! There are many recipes with simple ingredients that can be used; so I'll be listing some options for you all =) When you have tried it let me know how if it worked for youuu :)

Why is exfoliating every day bad for the skin?

"Exfoliating every day can strip the skin of its natural oils, which can cause breakouts," says celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas. "It can also cause irritation because you're removing the top layer of skin before it can heal."

Negative, long-term effects are also a concern. Says Shen Beauty aesthetician Carrie Lindsey: "Over time, it can actually thin the skin and cause it to wrinkle more easily. Plus, the skin is a smart organ and sheds dead skin cells on its own; if we exfoliate too often, it can actually slow cell turnover." Washington, D.C.-based dermatologist Elizabeth Tanzi, M.D., agrees. "Over-exfoliating can cause chronic skin irritation and inflammation, which can lead to accelerated aging," she says.

How often should you exfoliate?

"Two to three times a week for normal and combination skin, and once a week for sensitive skin," says Dr. Tanzi.  (As a refresher, combination skin is oily through the T-zone with dry cheeks, normal skin has the same amount of oil throughout, and sensitive skin gets red and irritated easily.)

Baking Soda Mask – (My Personal Favourite)

The grains in baking soda are just the right size to act as a gentle exfoliant, and many claim that it has helped clear up acne.

What you will need:
* Baking soda
* Water

Directions:
  1. Mix baking soda with water to make a paste.
  2. Gently rub it onto your skin and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing off.
This simple mask has been working wonders for me! Love it. It also cleared up my face as well, my face was breaking a little and I used this simple routine and within a week (I used it 3 times within a week & moisturized after using) my face cleared up.. my secret remedy!

Coffee Exfoliating Mask

Coffee is another fantastic natural exfoliant. It contains anti-inflammatory effects and can boost collagen production. Just as coffee stimulates our body in the morning, it can serve as a skin stimulant as well.

Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon ground coffee
  • 1 tablespoon water or olive oil
Directions:
  1. To make the scrub, combine the coffee and water or olive oil. (To make this inexpensive face scrub even more economical, save the wet coffee grounds from your brewed morning coffee and use those.)
  2. If you use olive oil, skip applying a moisturizer afterward, as olive oil will leave your skin super-moisturized.

  5. Woah! I’m enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “ perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a very good job with this.

Hair Mask for Oily Hair

Hi babes! Sooo finally I'm posting a Hair Mask! Aloe Vera & Lemon Hair Mask So, I have not tried this Hair Mask that I'm about to post, I'm actually going to try this weekend when I have some spare time. I personally chose Oily Hair, well because it's a problem I currently have. As I'm growing and becoming older I've realized that my hair gets oily pretty quick without me having put anything in it !! It's very annoying as you can imagine, like I legit have to wash my hair on the same day I'm going out not even the night before! I did some research and I found a mask with two ingredients that I presently have at home which are aloe vera and lemon juice! Let's see how it goes! Aloe vera and lemon juice are both packed with nutrients that help control excess oil in the hair, while nourishing it at the same time. Also, this hair mask can also help combat dandruff, while providing shine and luster to your locks. Directions:
