Face Mask for Acne

Hello beautiful people!
So I know many of us have acne :( and it can be rather frustrating! Today I have for you all a simple face mask that may help with this issue. For me personally, I don't have acne so I have not tried this mask. I do hope it helps those that do!

It's a ...... Cinnamon, Honey, Aloe Vera Mask for Acne!

Before Applying Masks
Before you apply a mask, make sure your skin is thoroughly clean and your pores are open. The best way of doing this is to take a shower or use steam to clean and open pores.
1.     Boil a pot of filtered water.
2.     Transfer the water to a large bowl and let it cool down for 1-2 minutes.
3.     When the water is not too hot, place your face over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel for 5-10 minutes.

Cinnamon, Honey, Aloe Vera Face Mask
§  1 teaspoon cinnamon
§  3 teaspoons of raw honey
§  1 inch of fresh aloe vera plant (only the inside gel) or 2 teaspoon of aloe vera juice
Mix all the ingredients and apply the paste over your face — excluding the eyes, mouth, and eyebrows. Rub the paste over the face for 1 minute, in a slow and circular movement. Leave on for 10 minutes.
P.S - This mask is also good for removing blackheads. Do not use this mask if you have sensitive skin. If you feel an intolerable burning sensation, wash it off right away.

Benefits of honey and cinnamon for the skin

Honey is a solution that is made from sugar, mostly fructose and glucose. These sugars contain proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.
For centuries, people have used honey as a medicinal treatment. The compound has been used to treat dandruff, psoriasis, burns, and fungal infections. Honey is also added to many skincare products.
The main reason for using honey and cinnamon to treat acne is because it can help to kill the bacteria that contribute to inflamed pores.
Honey has several chemical properties that enable it to kill bacteria. Examples include:
  • A high concentration of sugar, which puts pressure on bacterial cells, making them less likely to multiply.
  • An acidic environment where bacteria cannot easily grow.
  • The compound propolis that bees use to seal their hive has antimicrobial properties.
Cinnamon also has antimicrobial and astringent properties. Astringents help to shrink pores, which can make the skin appear smoother and more even.

  • Aloe vera contains gibberellins (growth hormone), glucomannan (a mannose-rich polysaccharide) which improves collagen synthesis when applied or consumed.
  • It contains hormones called gibberellins and polysaccharides which contain antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which fight with bacteria thriving the clogged pores.
  • It absorbs the excess oil from the skin which prevents clogging of pores.
  • The glycol-protiens present in it reduces the inflammation. It also reduces the irritation and redness caused by pimples.
  • It is an antioxidant, and contains Zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin E.
  • Aloe Vera is rich in ferments like catechins, carotenoids, and flavonoids. It is highly rich in carbohydrates and amino acids.
  • As an astringent, Aloe Vera helps in contracting the skin, thus rendering the skin pores clean from any deposited sebum, dead skin cells or dirt.
  • It purifies the blood and stimulates cell growth to heal the damaged skin.
